This page describes how the Aura browser extension ("the Extension") collects, uses, and stores your data. By installing or using the Extension, you agree to the practices described below.
When you sign up for an Aura account or log in, we collect your name, email address, and password. Passwords are used only for authentication and are stored on the server as secure hashes, not in plain text.
To provide tab and workspace management and sync, the Extension stores metadata about your browsing structure both locally in your browser and, if you choose to sign in, on our servers. This includes workspace and collection names, ordering, and metadata about saved tabs such as page titles, URLs, favicons, pinned status, and timestamps.
When you use our backend for authentication or sync, our infrastructure provider (Cloudflare) may process technical data such as IP address, approximate location (for example, country or region), and basic browser or device information to provide security and reliability for the service.
We use the data described above solely to provide and improve the Aura service, including:
We do not sell your personal data to third parties and we do not use your data for targeted advertising.
Account and sync data are stored in databases hosted on Cloudflare with appropriate technical and organizational security measures. Passwords are never stored in plain text and are kept only as secure hashes. We retain your data for as long as needed to operate the service and comply with legal obligations. Where applicable, you may request deletion of your account and associated data.
The Extension relies on Cloudflare to host the backend API, database, and authentication layer. These providers may process limited technical data such as IP addresses under their own privacy policies in order to deliver security, performance, and reliability.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice within the Extension or on our website.
